H.E. Kate Airey, OBE – Patron

H.E. Kate Airey, OBE is the British High Commissioner to Uganda, and is the Patron of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda.

Former Presidents

Helen Nanteza Kawesa, Former President

Helen is the former President of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. She served as President of the Association from 2021 to 2023.

Helen sits on the Advisory Council of the Association providing advice and shaping strategy.

She is a Chevening Alumna and graduated with Masters in Political Communication from the University of Sheffield, UK.

Emmanuel Mugunga Freddie, Former President

Emmanuel was the first President of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda at its inception in 2019 until 2021.

He sits on the Advisory Council of the Association providing advice and shaping strategy.

He is a Chevening Alumnus and graduated with MSc. in Governance and Development Government from the University of Birmingham, UK.

Allan Brian Ssembajjwe, President

Allan is the current President of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda.

Allan leads the distinguished Chevening Alumni in Uganda, strengthening Leadership, Networking and harnessing their skills to be leaders in their chosen fields using their expertise to make society better.

He is a Chevening Alumnus and graduated with MSc. Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Manchester, UK.

Nicholas Okot (PhD), Vice President

Nicholas is the current Vice President of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. He was elected Vice President at the annual general meeting in June 2023.

Nicholas is in Charge of forming and sustaining Association partnerships, managing the bids put out by the association and representing the Association at official functions.

Nicholas is a Chevening Alumnus and graduated with MA Economics & Finance from the University of Leeds, UK.

Elvis Mwesigwa, Secretary

Elvis is the Secretary of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. Elvis was elected Secretary at the annual general meeting in June 2023

Elvis is a Chevening Alumnus and graduated with MSc. Water and Sanitation for Development from Cranfield University, UK.

Enid Hilda Mugabi, Treasurer

Enid is the Treasurer of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. She was elected Treasurer at the annual general meeting in June 2023

Enid is a Chevening Alumna and graduated with MSc. Commercial Projects Management from the University of Manchester, UK.

Hope Bagota, Deputy Secretary

Hope is the Deputy Secretary of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. She was elected Deputy Secretary at the annual general meeting in June 2023

Hope is a Chevening Alumna and graduated with LLM Human Rights Law from Middlesex University, UK.

Chloe Kaburunga, Vice Treasurer

Chloe is the Vice Treasurer of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. She was elected Vice Treasurer at the annual general meeting in June 2023

Chloe is a Chevening Alumna and graduated with Master of Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh, UK.

Billy Rwothungeyo, Communications Officer

Billy is the Communications Officer of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. He was elected Communications Officer at the annual general meeting in June 2023

Billy is a Chevening Alumnus and graduated with MSc. Communication and Development from the University of Reading, UK.

Diana Nakaweesa, Compliance Officer

Diana is the Compliance Officer of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. She elected Compliance Officer at the annual general meeting in June 2023

Diana is a Chevening Alumna and graduated with LLM Gender, Conflict and Human Rights from Ulster University, UK.

Marion Sandra Mbabazi, Community Liaison Officer

Marion is the Community Liaison Officer of the Chevening Alumni Association of Uganda. She was elected Community Liaison Officer at the annual general meeting in June 2023

Marion is a Chevening Alumna and graduated with MA Participation Development and Social Change from the University of Sussex, UK.
